Who you are agreeing with
Wanderland is operated by James Clayson. Using it means agreeing to what follows.
You have to be 18
No exceptions. Your date of birth is checked when you sign up and re-checked on the server, and an account found to belong to someone under 18 is removed.
Your account is yours alone
One person, one account. Signing in sends a code to your email, so anyone with access to that inbox can get in — which is worth remembering if you share it. Do not sign in as somebody else or pretend to be them.
What will get you removed
Being here means not doing these:
- Harassing, threatening or abusing anyone.
- Pretending to be a different person, or using someone else’s photos.
- Sending anyone sexual images they did not ask for.
- Anything involving people under 18.
- Advertising, scamming, or asking people for money.
- Scraping the app, automating it, or trying to get at other people’s data.
This is not a complete list, and it is not meant to be lawyered. If what you are doing would make someone want to leave, do not.
Reporting and blocking
You can report a person or a message, and you can block someone. Blocking is immediate in the conversation, hides you from each other, and is never announced to them. It cannot currently be undone, which is why the app asks twice.
Reports are recorded, and there is no promise here about what happens next. Saying they are reviewed within some window would be a commitment nobody is yet in a position to keep. What is true: a report is kept, it keeps a copy of what was said so it survives the message being deleted, and it outlives the deletion of either account.
What you write and post
It stays yours. You give permission to store it and to show it to the people it is meant for, which is what makes the app work, and nothing more — it is not used for advertising and it is not sold.
Anything you send to another person may be kept by them, quoted in a report, or screenshotted. Deleting your account removes your side of a conversation, and cannot reach what somebody else has already seen.
This app is early
It is a closed test. Things will break, features will change, and dates may not work the way you expect. There is no guarantee it will be available, that anything you write is backed up, or that the app will continue to exist.
Founding members
A city’s map opens once enough people have joined there. Until then the app shows you your place — #37 in Manchester, say — and the rest of the app works as normal. The first people of each side to join a city (100 women and 100 men to begin with) are its founding members. Once a city’s map opens, it stays open.
When Wanderland Premium launches, it is free for founding members for as long as they keep their account. It belongs to the account, not to your email address, and it ends if you delete the account.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
An account may be removed for breaking the rules above, and in serious cases without warning — particularly anything involving safety or anyone under 18.
The legal part
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Wording about liability and warranties is deliberately not drafted here. It is the part of a terms document that most needs someone qualified, and inventing something plausible-sounding would be worse than leaving the space.
Changes
These will change as the app does. The date at the top says when they last did.
