Signing in
There is no password. Sign in with your email address and the code emailed to it, or with Apple or Google if that is how you signed up. If a code does not arrive, check your spam folder, then ask for another one.
Why was I signed out?
Signing out on one phone signs you out on every phone, so if you signed out somewhere else, this phone is signed out too. You are also asked to sign in again after 30 days away. Sign in the way you did before and everything is where you left it.
Why is the map locked?
Each city’s maps open once enough people have joined there, so there is somebody to meet when you arrive. The map shows how many it needs. Until then it stays dimmed, but the rest of the app works, including Your Island. Inviting friends opens it sooner, and we send you a notification when it opens.
I am not getting notifications
- Check they are allowed on your phone: on iPhone, Settings, then Notifications, then Wanderland. On Android, Settings, then Apps, then Wanderland, then Notifications.
- Check the switches in the app: Profile, then Notifications. There is one for each kind.
- Reminders and Island Note alerts are not sent between 10pm and 8am your time.
- Make sure you are signed in. A signed out phone gets nothing.
Someone is bothering you
In your date with them, tap ⋮ at the top and choose Report or block. To report one message, press and hold it; an Island Note has its own report button. Blocking means you stop seeing each other and the conversation closes; they are not told. A report is sent to us and kept even if either of you later deletes your account.
If you are in danger, contact the police first: 999 in the UK. If it involves a child, see child safety.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile, then Delete my account. It is immediate and cannot be undone. If you cannot open the app, here is how to ask us to do it.
